Close Brothers has won the Most Open Culture Award at the industry-recognised 2024 Menopause Friendly Employer Awards.

Close Brothers joined the other finalists and many menopause friendly employers at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on Wednesday September 11, 2024 as Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace hosted the prestigious Menopause Friendly Employer Awards ceremony.  The evening was powered by headline sponsor Peppy alongside category sponsors: Boots and the No 7 Beauty Company, British Airways, Mars, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Specsavers, Theramex and Vitabiotics Menopace.

The Menopause Friendly Employer Awards celebrate and recognise excellence among organisations and individuals going above and beyond to support menopause in the workplace.  TV and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon directed proceedings as over 400 guests attended in person and via live link from across the country.

Now in its third year, the 2024 Menopause Friendly Employer Awards were judged by the Menopause Friendly Independent Panel who were looking for both innovation and evidence of the impact and positive change achieved within the workplace.

The extensive range of this year’s winners included two county councils and a charity alongside a football club, police force and aerospace company.

The Most Open Culture Award goes to the organisation that fosters open dialogues about menopause, demonstrates visible support from senior leadership and actively encourages everyone to participate in sharing their personal stories.

Close Brothers was presented with its award by sponsor, Julie Sullivan, International Health & Wellbeing Specialist and Liz McCauley, Field Sales Leader Traditional Trade & Generations ARG Lead from Mars alongside Menopause Friendly Panel Member Susannah Fish OBE, Former Police Chief Constable who commented:

“I would like to extend my congratulations to Close Brothers for winning this category. This year we saw inspirational examples of organisations where senior leaders are creating psychological safety by sharing their vulnerabilities and lived menopause experiences, encouraging everyone to be honest about what they need to continue to thrive at work.”

“The Menopause Friendly Employer Awards shine a spotlight on the incredible work being done by members of the Menopause Friendly Membership and Accreditation,” says Deborah Garlick, CEO and founder. “What our members are doing is changing hearts and minds about menopause for good, helping people live better lives today and for generations to come. I congratulate each and every one and thank them for all they’re doing.”

The other finalists in the Most Open Culture category were:

Federated Hermes Limited, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle Building Society, QVC and Royal Mail.
