Close Brothers Motor Finance has today announced its continued commitment to the Doncaster region by signing a new lease on its Head Office premises. The £1.7bn business has been based in Doncaster since 1991 and the new lease will ensure their presence in the area for the foreseeable future.
Close Brothers Motor Finance is one of the largest employers in Doncaster, employing over 300 people in the Roman House and Spinner Point offices. Nearly two thirds of Close Brothers’ employees commute from outside of Doncaster, with many citing superb transport links, such as the M1, A1, M62 and fast-train to London, as of one of the main advantages of working in the region. A third of employees who work within Doncaster reference its wide-ranging amenities, picturesque villages and strong commitment to community values as the main reasons for living in the town.
James Broadhead, CEO of Close Brothers Motor Finance, comments: “I am really pleased to announce our intention to stay in Doncaster, having just signed a new lease on our Head Office premises. The final decision was primarily based on our commitment to an area which is an important part of our heritage, but more importantly it demonstrates a commitment to our people, who clearly enjoy living and working in Doncaster. Our proposition is built around people – it’s what makes us unique in our industry – and we didn’t want to take any decisions that would pose a threat to losing any of the great people who make our business what it is.
“As a resident of Doncaster for over 13 years, I know first-hand what Doncaster has to offer from both a business and personal perspective. Doncaster is a true ‘commuter-city’ and the local road infrastructure, rail links and surrounding airports make the city a hotbed for business activity, helping us attract and maintain the best personnel in the industry.
“I am greatly looking forward to the next chapter in Close Brothers Motor Finance’s history, which will be written, continued and enhanced by being based in Doncaster”
